So, Sunday morning I'm driving down the road, heading over to a neighboring farm to tend their sheep, donkeys, dogs, cats & chickens while they are off to a national livestock exhibition (another whole story in itself), when silhouetted on a leafless tree branch I see a really big bird.
Yes, in fact, THIS big bird. There he/she was alongside the brook, with a clear vantage point of field and stream. I snapped a few shots, bummed I did not have the telephoto lens or my binoculars in the car... So, I crept closer and closer until I made it nervous enough to fly a short distance down the valley, then I drove away to do said chores.
An hour or so later, on my way home, there it was again, having returned to the same tree. I skedaddled on home, rounded up the children, another lens and the bins and off we went! Sure enough, still there. Handed the camera off to my son, who snapped this and enough others to make our own animated flip book. It is neat to move from photo to photo on the computer and see the subtle changes in posture and where it's attention is directed. It was cool! We watched quite awhile, several other vehicles sped by, couldn't help but wonder if any others noticed?
Nice! That's a beautiful photo. I think we often get too busy with life, so busy we forget to look at the window at the majesty around us.
