C is for Common Consideration

C is for Common Consideration. Spoiler alert, ranting and or raving ahead. Rude people bum me out, I'm sure they bother you too. I'm not perfect, I'm sure I have been rude before, and not as considerate of others as I should have been, but I do try. I can't think of an instance at the moment - oh, no, wait, I can.... where someone pointed out to me that I handled something poorly. I did what I would expect of others in return, I tried to patch things up and make it right, it took some time, but it was successful.

Well, one of my children was recently treated quite poorly (yes, that brings out a mama bear response) while participating within an organization that I would expect to have high standards, as well as rules and traditions to follow. Mistakes were made, showing a complete lack of respect for others, and when this was called to the attention of adults, no apology, nothing. Personally I found this hurtful, for my child I was deeply disappointed and saddened. Surely I thought these folks (parents/adults/peers) would have acted more appropriately for the best interest of all the kids involved, not just their own.

I know I was intentionally vague, but thanks for letting me vent some frustration! I am sure as the children get older, there will be more and more difficulties with social interaction, and I can only hope that as they grow, my ability to support them and help them handle these things with grace also grows.

On that note, I am happy to say that so far in my limited experience blogging, I have found nothing but common consideration, in fact you people seem to be full of C - compassion, culture, comedy, camaraderie, clarity - thank you.
Confused? The photo has no connection, just felt like sharing :-) (unless you count C for circle) or I commence conversing in "C"

  1. Maybe I should have titled it complaining...

  2. It makes me sad sometimes on the lace of consideration there is in the world. As adults it certainly annoys us when it happens to us but we always hate to see our kids get treated badly. I guess it all makes them stronger since life in general is often inconsiderate.

    1. Hi Mary Ann, thanks for following along - just popped over to your blog, you are a talented woman! I know in the big picture, these things happen and aren't really something to brood over, but people should just be nice to each other!

  3. It stinks when kids are involved, and we always try to protect our kids from the realities of the world that sometimes has no compassion. If only there was a vaccine for it lol.

  4. I find it convenient that so many people have opinions about our behaviour yet tend to never reflect on their own. Yup, life is tough right up until the moment it isn't. Rant or not? I enjoyed your post!

  6. I too have seen nothing but the big C when it comes to blogging!
I do hate it though, when people lack common consideration and are just plain rude... there's just no need for it!

  7. It's the circle of life! See, the grizzly lock inside is safe, since we home school. Granted there will always be conflict, but I'm like you, always trying to make it right.

  8. I homeschool, too but I've had that inner grizzly come out at times, mainly when there is a kid who's not being so nice to one of my children. Unavoidable I guess.

  9. Your place looks like a slice of heaven. As far the young'uns are concerned, Mama Bear becomes us all. Let me know who the perps are and I'll send them a bag of horse pucky.
